Stofleth Named 2016 CBT Distinguished Senior

EKU's College of Business and Technology is pleased to announce Mr. Andrew J. Stofleth as the 2016 Distinguished Senior. Each year, the College of Business and Technology selects a Distinguished Senior. This $1,000 award is given annually at the EKU Scholar's Assembly to the student judged by the Colleges’ department chairs to be the overall distinguished senior. This outstanding individual is also recognized at the CBT Spring Convocation Ceremonies.

The recipient is selected from among the six distinguished seniors recognized by the faculty in various College departments and programs. The recipient is chosen for his or her superior academic achievement coupled with excellent leadership, citizenship, character, and service.

Andrew is from Richmond, Kentucky, and is a member and Martin Award recipient of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi where he has risen to the ranks of National Council of Student Vice Presidents. He has also been named the 2016 Chapter Fellowship Award recipient.

Stofleth graduated in December with his Bachelor’s in Public Relations with a minor in Business and is currently pursuing graduate studies in integrated marketing communications at West Virginia University.

As a former Marine, Andrew came to EKU with a plan maximize his veteran benefits - which he did in short order. While at EKU, he joined the EKU Vets Club serving as Public Relations Officer and developing a number of important initiatives.  He was also selected as an inaugural member of the CBT Chamber Colonels where he helped plan, promote, and staff several events, fundraisers, and other social functions that fostered good relations between the university and local businesses. He took advantage of internships, notably as Public Affairs Intern with the Department of Veterans Affairs. He is co-founder of Colonel Communications where he oversaw projects and strategic planning.

Andrew has become an experienced communicator and media professional who has contributed to effective campaign development within healthcare, government and higher education sectors. He is extremely disciplined and methodical in his process – yet is bursting with ideas. He lives to solve complex problems. His passions include community building and social enterprise initiatives.  He has been recognized with the Aster Award for Recognizing Excellence in Medical Marketing and has also received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from 6th District Congressman Andy Barr.

This incredible drive and passion has earned his current position as Corporate Marketing Assistant with Alltech.
