RMI Consolidates BS and BBA Programs
EKU's national recognized Risk Management and Insurance program is strong and growing – now with more than 100 students.
For many years EKU has offered students majoring in insurance two degree options - a bachelor of science degree (B.S.) and a bachelor of business administration (B.B.A.). After a thorough review of academic programs, the Council on Academic Affairs supported a recommendation to combine these two degree options into a single Bachelor of Business Administration.
According to RMI program director Dr. Burke Christensen, "We have consolidated the program into one degree – the BBA. Students currently enrolled in the BS degree program will be able to finish that degree." He continued, "New students will be enrolled in the BBA program."
Dr. Tom Erekson, Dean of the College, commented, "The RMI program is a signature program for EKU, the College, and the School of Business. It has great support from the insurance industry, and the career opportunities for our graduates are outstanding."
