Perseverance Pays Off for Animal and Veterinary Science Graduate

Kasi Schneid

Each semester leading up to commencement, graduating seniors from the College of Business and Technology are encouraged to apply for the honor of being the student commencement speaker on behalf of the college. Because there were so many outstanding applicants this spring, the College of Business and Technology would like to showcase a few of these students and their EKU experiences.

Kasi Schneid, Animal and Veterinary Sciences major, grew up in a family that constantly pushed and encouraged her to try new things. They supported her through many activities including playing basketball, soccer, softball, and showing horses and cattle. Ultimately, her passion for agriculture helped her to get to where she is today.

During her time at EKU, Schneid was the Secretary for EKU Collegiate Farm Bureau, National Vice President for Delta Tau Alpha Agriculture Honors Society, and Vice President of the Agriculture Club.  In addition to serving as the Secretary for Delta Zeta Sorority, Schneid was a member of the EKU American Society of Animal Science Quadrathalon Team, EKU Dairy Challenge Team and represented EKU as an Agriculture Ambassador.

With her perseverance, Schneid has thrived during her EKU career and will be graduating with an Associate of Applied Science in Agriculture with a Concentration in Livestock Management as well as a Bachelor of Science in Animal and Veterinary Sciences with a Pre-Veterinary Concentration.
