Ms. Heather Lodge (1996, BA Broadcasting and Mass Communication), Department of Communication

Ms. Lodge completed her Bachelors in Broadcasting and Mass Communication at EKU in 1996.  She is currently the Producer of Newschannel 5 at 5 for KSDK-TV in St. Louis, Missouri.

Ms. Lodge is credited with producing the most-watched newscasts in Louisville, Kentucky, and St. Louis, Missouri.

In St. Louis, she produces one of the most-watched 5:00 pm newscasts in the country. She credits her success to faculty mentor, Mr. Ferrell Wellman, who convinced her that she was a producer at heart. He also encouraged her to apply for the Harry Barfield Scholarship, which she subsequently received. As a Barfield Scholarship recipient, Ms. Lodge participated in a paid internship in all four Lexington television stations; and while at WLEX, she landed her first job.  She is joined today by Tyson Lodge.

The college also honored distinguished seniors for the year as selected by their respective departments within the College of Business and Technology. In addition, recipients of scholarships and awards for the 2005-06 academic year were recognized. Students were honored for outstanding achievement and more than 40 area employers were on hand to engage in networking activities with college graduating seniors.
