Hamon Selected as 2013 CBT Distinguished Senior
EKU's College of Business and Technology is pleased to announce the recipient of its 2013 Distinguished Senior Award. Ms. Kristina Hamon of Frankfort, Ky. A member of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, Kristina will be graduating this coming May with her Bachelor’s in Journalism along with a minor in Psychology.
This $500 award is given annually to the student judged by the Colleges’ department chairs as the distinguished senior within the college. The recipient is selected from among the distinguished seniors recognized by faculty in various college departments and programs. The recipient is chosen for his or her superior academic achievement coupled with excellent leadership, citizenship, character, and service.
Kristina put her many scholarships to good use while here at EKU with a proven record of excellence. She is currently the Editor-in-chief of the award-winning Eastern Progress and President of the Society of Professional Journalists. Working with SPJ she created and organized numerous events and fundraising activities.
When not working with the Progress or student groups, you might see her performing with the Nationally-ranked EKU Dance Team. Her love of dance carries her well beyond performance into volunteering with youth groups and children’s charities such as Shriners Hospital for Children.
