EKU School of Business to Hold Second Data Analytics Symposium

EKU's School of Business will host the 2019 EKU Business Analytics Symposium on Friday, April 5, 2019, at the EKU Business and Technology Center on the Richmond Campus. Students, as well as industry professionals throughout the region are invited to participate. Pre-registration is encouraged. 

Opening at 8:00 a.m., the symposium will feature several industry speakers, student presentations, and a keynote speaker. Networking opportunities will take place throughout the day over light refreshments, as well as a lunch for faculty, presenters, and industry guests.

Highlights of the day include Mr. Jared Byrd, Supply Chain Analyst at Corning. Corning has been a leader in materials science for 167 years, with constantly evolving, versatile capabilities reaching ever-changing market needs. Corning's market today includes optical communications, mobile consumer electronics, display technology, automotive, and life sciences vessels. 

Also featured will be health care analytics professionals Alan Waddell and Evan Hackney (a recent EKU MBA graduate) of Kentuckiana Health Collaborative (KHC). With "Triple Aim goals of Better Health, Better Care, and Better Value", KHC is a non-profit organization committed to improving the health care delivery systems in Kentucky and the Greater Louisville area through measuring and reporting on the quality of the current healthcare systems and driving improvement initiatives. 

Keynote address will be delivered by Mr. Dickie Oliver, Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Airline Reporting Company (ARC). Working with and for travel agencies, airlines, corporations, and other data users, ARC provides trusted data and tools to help its customers analyze trends and manage their programs from large-scale data down to the smallest details. ARC is paving the way for innovation and growth with high-quality travel industry data.  

The School of Business is also pleased to include top-tier business students Henry Fritz, Jeremy Hostettler, Cameron Peyton, and Kelsey Wolfzorn, who will make presentations during the morning session. Their fields of study at EKU include Global Supply Chain, Marketing, and Computer Information Systems, as well as the Honors Scholar Program.
