College of Business and Technology Distinguished Senior Award
A $500 award is given to the student judged by the College's department chairs as the distinguished senior in the College of Business and Technology. The recipient is chosen from the distinguished seniors recognized by the faculty in various College departments/programs. The recipient is chosen for his or her superior academic achievement coupled with excellent leadership, citizenship, character, and service. The award is presented at the University Scholars Day Ceremony during the spring semester.
Dean's Distinguished Academic Achievement Award
The Dean's Distinguished Academic Achievement Award is a $500 award given periodically by the Dean's Office of the College of Business and Technology to an outstanding graduating student, who, in addition to having academically excelled in more than one major within the College, possesses good character, leadership, citizenship, and social responsibility. The award is presented at the University Scholars Day Ceremony during the spring semester.
Sam Bourne Endowed Scholarship
Mr. Samuel Bourne, a lifelong resident of Garrard County, created this scholarship because of his commitment to creating opportunities for students, his belief in the value of education, and desire to give back to others from his community. Therefore, this fund will provide financial assistance for recipients meeting the following criteria: (1) Be enrolled (or admitted and plan to enroll the following semester) as a full-time Junior, Senior, or graduate level student at Eastern Kentucky University; (2) Be enrolled as a full-time student at the University in good academic standing, both at time of awarding and during the term of award; (3) Declared major within the College of Business and Technology or its future equivalent; and Be a resident of Garrard County or a graduate of Garrard County High School or its future equivalent. Additional awarding preferences (not mandates) include: Demonstration of past community service, and Demonstration of financial need. Rodney Ratliff Scholarship
The Rodney Ratliff Scholarship is open to all EKU College of Business and Technology majors and is granted at the beginning of the student's junior year. The student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate excellent character, scholarship, leadership and professionalism. Applications are due to your department Chair by December 1. For more information, contact your departmental office.
Scholarships and awards are also offered by each CBT academic department. Some are discipline specific. Some are needs based. Others are purely academic.
