Grads Honored at 2017 Spring Convocation

At its spring convocation on Friday evening, May 12th, the College of Business and Technology honored 291 bachelor's degrees, 25 master's degrees, and 23 associate degrees for a total of 339 degree candidates. The ceremony was held in the Alumni Coliseum on EKU's campus at 6:30 pm.

Moehlman Receives 2017 S.J. Garner Student Excellence Award

EKU's PGA Golf Management program is pleased to announce that Ray Moehlman has been selected to receive the S.J. Garner Student Excellence Award for 2016-17. Ray is a senior Marketing, PGA Professional Golf Management major from Erlanger, Ky. He received the award at the PGA Golf Management spring awards reception in April.

At first, he wasn't quite sure what was happening. PGM graduates were being called to the stage for their diploma covers. The first in line handed President Benson a Pro V-1 golf ball and placed a golf bucket on the mace table.

Scholar Athletes: CBT Celebrates Spring Grads

At EKU's spring 2017 commencement ceremonies for the College of Business and Technology, six scholar athletes earned their college degrees - four of them with honors.

The ceremony, held in Alumni Coliseum on May 12th, honored students majoring in accounting, business, management, and marketing.

CBT faculty and staff gathered for the annual summer send-off luncheon on May 11 to celebrate the end of the academic year and to wish a fond farewell to those who are retiring.

Colonel's Battalion Commissions Spring Graduates

In time-honored tradition, the Colonel's Battalion formally commissioned new officers at the end of the spring 2017 semester. Cadets were formally commissioned in a ceremony with family and friends on Thursday, May 11, in O'Donnell Hall of EKU's Whitlock Building.

Kear Wins Erie Writing Scholarship

Sophomore Evan Kear may be studying hard to wrap up finals week, but he has plenty to be happy about. The Risk Management and Insurance major from Richmond just received a $3,000 scholarship from Erie Insurance.

North Team Brings Home 4th Annual Kincer Cup

The final event of the 2016-2017 Eastern Kentucky University PGA Golf Management tournament schedule, the Kincer Cup, ended the year with an incredible finish. For the third consecutive year, the North Team brought home the annual Kincer Cup prize. However, this year it was due to a victory in 2016.

The Dr. Glen Kleine Capstone Presentations were held on May 4, 2017 in the EKU Business and Technology Center Robert B. Rogow Auditorium. The very best College of Business and Technology student projects were presented and evaluated by a panel of judges with awards given to the winners.

On Tuesday, May 2, 2017, EKU alumnus Mark S. Henderson, CPA, Partner with Breeding, Henderson & Hord PLLC, visited ACC 523/723, Taxation of Corporations. 

He began his talk by asking students about the “best” form of business organization.
