Construction Students Compete at ASC Conference

EKU Construction fielded a team of six students and one faculty advisor at the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) Region 3 Conference in Downers Grove, Ill., October 12-15, 2016. As one of the member schools in ASC Region 3, the team competed with ten other universities including Ohio State, Cal Poly, Ball State and Eastern Michigan in the ASC Pre-Construction Competition.

It did not take long for a steady stream of excited Homecoming fans find their way to a "Little Taste of Eastern" with CBT's special blend of Biz-Tec Blast.

Two faculty members in the Eastern Kentucky University School of Business have been awarded an endowed professorship and chair.

Dr. Allen Engle, professor of management, has been named the Harold Glenn Campbell Chair in International Business; and Dr. Lee Allison, assistant professor of marketing, has been awarded the Karl D. Bays Professorship in Business.

Homecoming is a special time at EKU. This year even more so because it marks our jubilee anniversary. The College of Business and Technology is celebrating with a 50th Anniversary Reception on Thursday, Oct. 20th, for alumni and friends.

Sophomore Brooke Harrison was among those recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association recently. The management major from Riverside, Cal., along with other members of the EKU softball team picked up academic honors from the NFCA.  The award is given to players who achieved a 3.50 grade-point average or higher during the 2015-16 academic year.

Construction Management Program Earns ACCE Re-accreditation

The Board of Trustees of the American Council for Construction Education announces the renewal of accreditation of the Construction Management Program at Eastern Kentucky University.  The Program has maintained the stringent standards of ACCE, and has proven to the Board, through a visiting team of its peers and industry practitioners, that the program is worthy of reaccreditation.

It's not just another room with the usual desk or table and chairs. As many as six Risk Management and Insurance students may gather to study for exams or prepare for telephone interviews. In this special area, students come to eat lunch, study together, have small group learning sessions with professors and even take a quick nap.

EKU Students Attend Gamma Iota Sigma National Conference

Gamma Iota Sigma is the only international business fraternity for students of insurance, risk management and actuarial science. EKU’s chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma attended the 45th annual International Conference held in Columbus, Ohio, from September 29 - October 1, 2016.

EKU to Host Becker CPA Exam Workshop

The Kentucky Society of CPAs (KyCPA) and Becker Professional Education is partnering to offer the Uniform CPA Exam Workshop at three Kentucky universities this fall and winter. First up, on November 4th, is Eastern Kentucky University, followed by the University of Louisville and University of Kentucky (both scheduled for February 2017).
