America’s best and brightest college students gathered in Atlanta, Georgia, June 24-27 for the 2016 Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference (NLC). The conference drew thousands of future business leaders to compete in leadership events, share successes, and learn new ideas about shaping their careers through workshops and exhibits.

Jason Banta Receives Prestigious AAF Scholarship

Eastern Kentucky University student Jason Banta, a senior business and marketing education major from Pleasureville, Kentucky, has received the prestigious American Advertising Federation (AAF)-Louisville Bud Ballard Scholarship for 2016.

The scholarship is valued at $2,500.

Less than a week after being drafted by the New York Yankees, Mandy Alvarez picked up more postseason accolades on Wednesday when he was chosen to the 2016 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-Region team.

Alvarez is a graduating senior in Business and Technology from Miami., Fla.

BEM Junior Receives Barfield Scholarship

Eastern Kentucky University junior Marisa Hempel, a broadcasting and electronic media major from Berea, is one of five students statewide selected to receive the Kentucky Broadcasters Association’s Harry Barfield Scholarship.

Hempel will receive a $2,500 scholarship for the 2016-17 academic year.
