EKU's Department of Agriculture, along with the School of Applied Arts and Technology, is pleased to announce that Ms. Lorrie West has been selected as their departmental distinguished alum for 2012.

Ms. West was honored during a presentation on Friday, March 30, 2012, at the annual College of Business and Technology College to Careers senior recognition luncheon.

Laura Tucker recently opened her boutique, Downtown Diva, in the Somerset area.

With the weather getting warm and spring finally arriving, people are starting to spend more time outside.

­Dr. Bob Rogow, dean of Eastern Kentucky University’s College of Business and Technology, has been asked to speak at the upcoming Phi Kappa Phi induction ceremony at the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Eastern Kentucky University’s Risk Management and Insurance program will host its inaugural EKU Insurance Day with activities April 23-24, including a continuing education seminar highlighted by a presentation from the Kentucky Commissioner of Insurance.

An Eastern Kentucky University senior from Lancaster, competing against students from four-year colleges and universities in nine states, has received the Regional Student Leadership Award from the National Orientation Directors Association.

Dr. Marcel Robles, Corporate Communication Professor in the EKU Department of Management, Marketing, and International Business, received two 2012 Outstanding Educator Awards: one from the Association for Business Communication – Southwest (ABC-SW) and the other from the Association for Business Information Systems (ABIS) at the Federation of Business Disciplines (FBD) Conference.
